2009 C-USA ALL-FANTASY TEAM

Houston QB Case Keenum (photo, thanks Scout.com) ripped up a multitude of defenses in 2009, and, not just in Conference USA…Keenum led the Cougars to upset wins over Big XII schools Oklahoma State and Texas Tech early in the season.  For his performance, Keenum is our Fantasy College Blitz 2009 Conference USA Fantasy Player of the Year.

Keenum, a senior from Abilene, TX (Wylie HS), threw for 4560 yards and 36 TDs, while rushing for an additional 3 TDs (stats quoted are through November 21st games).

Houston, who finished first in CUSA West, will face Air Force in the upcoming Armed Forces Bowl in Fort Worth, TX.

Joining Keenum on the 2009 CUSA All-Fantasy Team are….Note:  All stats quoted are through November 21st games.

QUARTERBACK

Case Keenum – Houston: After his performance in the CUSA Championship Game, Keenum became the first QB in major college football history to throw for over 5000 yards in consecutive seasons.

RUNNING BACK

Donald Buckram – UTEP: Buckram (photo, right, thanks lcnj.com) wasDonaldBuckram the nation’s breakout fantasy star in 2009…rushing for nearly 1600 yards and 17 TDs.  Also a capable receiver as well, Buckram posted over 300 yards and 2 TDs receiving for the Miners.

Darius Marshall – Marshall: The main cog in the Thundering Herd offense, rushing for 1054 yards and 11 TDs in 2009.

Brynn Harvey – UCF: Harvey led the bowl-bound Knights with 947 yards and 13 TDs…and his late-season surge brought back memories of former UCF RB great Kevin Smith.

RECEIVERS

Dewayne Harris – East Carolina: The big-play threat led the CUSA champ Pirates with 727 yards and 5 TD catches….and also had 4 rushing TDs.

James Cleveland – Houston: One of the many receiving threats in the Cougar passing game arsenal, Cleveland led the team with 941 yards and 11 TD receptions.

Tyron Carrier – Houston: His stats may be a little down compared to last season (mainly because of the added WR depth at Houston), but Carrier still had 833 receiving yards and 6 TDs.

Craig Ratanamorn – Marshall: Thundering Herd kicker led all CUSA kickers in scoring with 76 points

DEFENSE/SPECIAL TEAMS

East Carolina: The Pirates have been producing some opprotunistic defenses in recent years, and in 2009 the ECU defense recorded 25 sacks and 14 fumble recoveries
