Saturday Morning College Football Breakfast (Free) Burrito, Week 9

Saturday, October 31st, 2009

Great matchups all day long – get your workouts in early as one could potentially stay on the couch all day for a docket like this:

  • 12:20p – Ole Miss at Auburn
  • 3:30p – Florida v. Georgia
  • 6p – give out Halloween candy (move couch to front porch)
  • 8pm – Texas at Oklahoma State and/or USC at Oregon

Let me wrap up this week’s fantasy college football analysis in the carrot-infused tortilla (to get the seasonal orange flavor).

First off, last weeks Top Ten Plays from our friends at AthletixNation:

on to the wrap-up…

Big 12 Bookends: And Then There Were Two…

Saturday, October 31st, 2009

Colt McCoyMost Big 12 games were pretty one-sided in week 8 and now there are only two teams remaining in the Top 25.

Will Oklahoma State be the next to fall?

Texas jumped out to a 35-7 halftime lead to easily defeat Missouri on the road. The Texas defense has solidified into one of the top units in the nation and should suppress fantasy output for any players they face. Colt McCoy (pictured left, thanks Icon SMI) completed 84% of his passes including 3 TD tosses, Jordan Shipley caught 2 TDs to go with 108 yards receiving, and Fozzy Whittaker has become the team’s number one back, chipping in a modest 54 total yards but finding the end zone once. GOING DEEP: More stars out, but let’s focus on who is in

Friday, October 30th, 2009

If you haven’t heard, here are the stud pre-season-top-ten WRs watching from the sidelines this week. Paging Dr. Kevorkian (but I will choose Dr. Carroll any day)! How many more of our speedy warriors on the flank will miss significant time?

Eric Decker, Minnesota - sprained arch, opting for surgery. CUT HIM

Dez Bryant, Oklahoma State - being made an example by the NCAA for lying about his non-violation.  Reggie Bush should be feeling lucky this week. C’mon Son, CUT HIM

Vincent Brown, SDSU – not pre-season, but an in-season Top 10 who hurt sprained a thumb ligament early in the Colorado State game. Surgery this week put him out until almost Thanksgiving.

Michael Floyd, Notre Dame – still out with the fractured collarbone, but word is out that he may return next week for Nov. 7 Navy battle. PICK HIM UP!
