Huss may call in to to talk about the industry, then leaving the game analysis to me.

You can call in to the show at 347-202-0765 – lots of good live fantasy talk on BTR.

Jeff Erickson, the Senior Editor of RotoWire.com and former host of Fantasy Focus on XM Satellite Radio takes his show to Blog Talk Radio in 2009. He discusses fantasy baseball too from a wide variety of angles, talking with the major forces within the industry, and we’ll also interact with you the listener.

A Passing Look at Pac 10 QBs

Tuesday, July 21st, 2009

alyssa-milano23Here at Fantasy College Blitz, we leave no journalistic stone unturned.  Since pouring over data to develop my preliminary research on the Pac 10, I thought I’d use technology and the Twitter Community to add a little zest to this article.  I sent a Tweet out to Alyssa Milano (pictured left–do I need a reason? thanks, Rock105i.com) to get her perspective on the upcoming college football season.  Why not go all Hollywood, since USC has developed minor celebs like Matt Leinart and Reggie Bush?  Evidently, she was out of the country shooting a film as I never heard back.  I’ll try to catch up with her later and do lunch.  I also sent Tweets out to several Pac 10 coaches.  They must still be learning how to use Twitter because I never heard back from them either. Joe Montana’s Son a Huskie

Thursday, June 11th, 2009

Much like other son’s of football QB legends, Nick Montana will have to fight hard to get out from under the shadow. The headline for this article, much like the other ones out there, don’t mention him by his name- they only refer to the son of Joe Montana.  That my friends, is a lot of pressure.

Some son’s have advanced past that pressure and succeeded in the NFL, such as the Manning brothers.   Or grinded out a career in the NFL such as Brian Griese.  Others have decided the weight of their father’s shoulder pads were a bit heavy, a la Jack Elway. However,  Nick Montana will have a chance to jump start the next chapter of Huskie football under new Head Coach Steve Sarkisian.  Many Washington faithful are hoping that Sarkisian brought some of that magic QB dust from the USC cupboards and will splash a heavy dose of it on Nick Montana.   This is finally Nick’s chance to be a star and create a name for himself.

From a fantasy standpoint, don’t expect worthwhile stats till his second year under center.  Those in dynasty leagues (hey Vince…hint hint for your draft in the NCAA Project), this is an interesting pick to stash away.

We believe Nick has made a very good decision for himself.  Imagine that…potential fame based on his own talent and not because he shares the same last name as that other Montana.

PODCAST: Vince Mullins on ESPN 1410 WNER

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

If you missed it earlier, I was a guest on the Sports Fix with Matt McCluskey on WNER Radio this afternoon and the audio is posted below.

Troy Nunes, epitome of 21st century Syracuse offense

Troy Nunes, epitome of 21st century Syracuse offense

While the local Syracuse Orange hardly represent the best of Big East fantasy college football, I can tell Matt will be a good friend of the site as he really appreciates the hobby.

We discuss the the Detroit Lions recent draft efforts, FCB’s hate-on for Mark Sanchez and the economy’s impact on the NFL.
