Announcing Fantasy College Football’s Charity Pro-Am
August 13th, 2009 by Vince Mullins
Last year a few of you joined up for FCB Select, where I tried out some different scoring systems and such and we just had a grand old time.
While our favorite superfan Neil Young led the league in points scored and forum posts, in the end it was Todd DeVries whose CollegeFootballGeek.com team took home the title in 2006 St. Louis Cardinals-like fashion after finishing 9-11 in the regular season (multiple games per week).
2009 will be much hotter – ladies and gentlemen I give you the expanded Fantasy College Football Pro-Am!
This is a great chance to test out your skills competing with the pros, and those pros would be me and Alex Esselink from our friends at College Fantasy Football Insiders. It is kinda like Pebble Beach but all online.
Prizes too (in line with current economic meltdown) – both the FCB and CFFI will give the winner one free post and a “superfan” appearence on a pocast – you pick the venue to tell the world that you beat the best in the country. Geek will chip in something too.
Sign up now – this is all-FBS, 2 QB starters, 24 owners (at least, the U can go to 36 if y’all are down) and full throttle action bought to you by U-Sports at Athlon Sports. Teams are just $19.95 for the entire football season – that’s like a dollar a week!
UPDATE Aug 19: Neil young is unable to join, and the league is now built for charity. The winner of the league will name their 501c3 charity to make a nice donation from proceeds on this league – a great message in these economic times and a great holiday gift to charity.
