FCB FANTASY PLAYER OF THE WEEK…Steven Sheffield, QB, Texas Tech
October 12th, 2009 by Daniel Freer
We figured, at some time this season, that a Texas Tech QB would be the top producer of the week.
We did not figure, it would be the second-team QB.
In the Texas Tech win in Lubbock on Saturday, a 66-14 stomping of Kansas State, Red Raider backup QB Steven Sheffield (photo,CroixTorres/Raider Nation.com) riddled the KSU Wildcats defense for 490 yards and 7 TDs…earning our Fantasy College Blitz Fantasy Player of the Week for Week Six.
Sheffield, a junior from Pflugerville, TX, filled in for the injured starter Taylor Potts, who was hurt in the Red Raiders victory over New Mexico the previous week. In the New Mexico game, Sheffield threw for 3 TDs after Potts left that game.
