FROM THE SHOTGUN…Week Eleven QB Prime-Time/Pine-Time

texastechmascot FROM THE SHOTGUN...Week Eleven QB Prime-Time/Pine-TimeDecisions…Decisions…

Like the big one everyone in the USA will be making on November 4th…who will become the 44th President of the United States of America?

Then, for all of you still alive in your fantasy leagues…which QB to play this week in your big game?

Some decisions will be easy, like Texas Tech QB Graham Harrell.  Other decisions will take some thought.

Hopefully, this list will help you decide.

GOOD DECISIONS…PRIME-TIME QBs:

GRAHAM HARRELL (Texas Tech) and ZAC ROBINSON (Oklahoma State): Another “Game of the Century” brewing in this one, and look for a shoot-out.  Robinson gives extra-value because of his running ability.  Big XII and National Championship implications in this one.

TREVOR VITTATOE (UTEP) and MICHAEL DESORMEAUX (Louisiana-Lafayette): Fun out-of-conference game in the works, with Vittatoe passing and Desormeaux running…and, with UTEPs defense lots of running from Desormeaux.

TODD REESING (Kansas) and JOE GANZ (Nebraska): Look for a lot of offense in this one, especially if the Huskers trail early.  Both QBs can light it up when they have to, and may have to.  Sometimes, both the KU and NU defenses disappear during games.

JUICE WILLIAMS (Illinois) and TIM HILLER (Western Michigan): Game played at neutral Ford Field in Detroit, and, not necessarily any home advantage for the WMU Broncos.  Still, I see a lot of offense in this game…with Hiller and WMU having the offense to keep this game close.

WILLIE TUITAMA (Arizona) at Washington State: Willie T must be licking his chops for this one…Wazzu has arguably the worst team in the land, with a perfect mix of bad defense with even worse offense.  Big game for Tuitama in the works.

MAX HALL (BYU) vs San Diego State: The only reason Washington State is “arguably the worsr team in the land” is that San Diego State can also claim it is “arguably the worst team in the land”.  Hall and his Cougars are going to score early, and often, in this one.

OTHER PRIME-TIME QBs:  SAM BRADFORD, Oklahoma; COLT McCOY, Texas; CHASE DANIEL, Missouri; CHASE CLEMENT, Rice; KELLEN MOORE, Boise State; PAT WHITE, West Virginia; COLIN KAEPERNICK, Nevada; MARK SANCHEZ, USC.

THE JON STEWART “INDECISION ‘08″ MAYBE PLAY THEM THIS WEEK:

TIM TEBOW (Florida) at Vanderbilt: Tebow is on a roll, but Vandy historically plays the Gators well, and needs a big win to secure a rare bowl bid, and preserve a chance to win the SEC East (no kidding).  Gators have developed so many weapons that they do not need to rely on Tebow as much to win games.

NATE DAVIS (Ball State) vs Northern Illinois: Could be a closer game than expected, and the Cardinals have been using more of RB MiQuale Lewis as the main cog of their offense.  Ball State is good enough to win games with their ground game and defense, which affects Davis’s stats.

BAD DECISION PINE-TIME QBs:

BRIAN JOHNSON (Utah) vs TCU: TCU has one of the best defenses in the land…just ask BYU QB Max Hall.  Look for a low-scoring game in one of the best non-BCS matchups of the season.

ROBERT GRIFFIN (Baylor) vs Texas: The frosh phenom is facing a very mad Texas team who let one get away in Lubbock last weekend…and a Texas team still very much in the National Championship hunt.

NOTABLES OFF THIS WEEK:  DAVID JOHNSON, Tulsa; MATT GROTHE, South Florida; JEVAN SNEAD, Ole Miss; DAN LeFEVOUR/NBRIAN BRUNNER, Central Michigan
