QB UPDATE 09/02/08

A funny thing happened to the ACC this past weekend…and no, it was not just that some of their marquee programs and QBs laid eggs last week in non-conference action.
Not only the ACC schools could not get the ball to the right WRs, they could not get the ball into the right stadium.
A skydiving crew was supposed to deliver the game-ball to North Carolina’s Kenan Stadium before kickoff. They did deliver the game-ball, however, to Duke’s Wallace Wade Stadium. Ooops!
Hint #457: Chances are you would not see UNC mascot, Ramses (pictured, thanks IconSMI), foraging on leafy things at Duke. Just a hint…
AUBURN:
QB Kodi Burns is slated to play Saturday when the Tigers host Southern Miss. Burns suffered a slight injury last weekend in the game vs UL-Monroe. Both Burns and Chris Todd are scheduled again to rotate at QB in the USM game. Also, with 85 passing yards last week, there may be some concern with AUs air attack, as a number of WRs got injured. Hopefully new Tiger OC Tony Franklin can fix the deficiencies before SEC action begins.
HAWAII:
Inoke Funaki was named the starter for this week’s game vs Weber State. UH struggled on offense at Florida this past Saturday, and new Warriors coach Greg McMacklin is going to the QB with the most expreience in the program with the least experience in the doghouse.
MICHIGAN:
True-freshman Justin Feagin will be red-shirted, according to the Wolverine coaching staff. An interesting development, since Feagin is probably the one QB on the UM roster who best fits the spread offense Rich Rodriguez popularized at West Virginia. Wonder, after Michigan’s home loss to Utah last weekend, that UM is already looking ahead to 2009, foregoing this season?
