Florida Gators and Alabama Crimson Tide the top defenses per BLITZindex
Sunday, November 29th, 2009
The Fantasy College Blitz BLITZindex ™ is an equal weighted measure of national ranks in three team defense categories – yards per play allowed (YPP), Yard per point allowed (YPPt), and points per game allowed (PPG). Yards per game allowed (total, run, and pass) are included in the study for comparison only – not the rankings.
Setting up for the SEC Championship Game perfectly, the Florida Gators and the Alabama Crimson Tide sit atop our top defenses after 13 weeks of the college football season. Texas, despite allowing Texas A&M to score 39 on them on Thanksgiving night, remains in the top ten even though the Longhorns amazing yds/play allowed lead is now history. Another great defensive matchup in the Big 12 Championship Game too as #3 Nebraska, led by sentimental Heisman Trophy candidate DT Ndumakong Suh faces off against #8 Texas.
