FCFI Expert League Draft Results by team
Tuesday, August 16th, 2011
Tons of data from the FCFI Expert league draft last night – 2QB format, hosted by MockDraft Central and MC Randy Burgess keeping the event on schedule.
Big hat tip to CFO Drew Smith (twitter @fcbdrew) as his team receives a lot of love from the commentariat at other sites.
Best comment so far? Daniel at CFFI “FantasyCollegeBlitz’s picks were pretty good. Took guts to skip Keenum.”
I might point to a different body part...round-by-round (PDF) and team-by-team below the fold!
Apologies for the formatting on the team-by-team – we have never found a nice way to present tables. If you want a hardcore spreadsheet from our quantitative analyst Matt Ryan, email vince[at]fantasycollegeblitz[dot]com.
2011 TOP 70 OVERALL FCFI – the TEBOW indicator debut
Monday, August 15th, 2011
Normally we are against this sort of thing – for years we ignored an overall list since we think it distracts owners from reacting to the draft vibrations and trends.
That being said, in prepping our CFO Drew Smith’s efforts in the industry expert league, the Fantasy College Football Invitational (FCFI), it is good to know where everyone else is coming from, sorta like Sun Tzu challenges us to know thy enemy better than we know our friends.
On that note, I took Drew’s Projections of Fantasy Points per Game (see the outputs on our Cheatsheet Customizer), and calculated a very crude VORP or “Value Over Replacement player” for the unique 18-owner, all-FBS, 2Q-2R-2W-1TE format of the FCFI.
But to make it our own, we have renamed it the Talent Excess Budgeted Over Walkon – yes it is the TEBOW indicator!
The addition of the second QB makes that position quite a bit more valuable since we now measure QB1 versus QB37 instead of QB19, likewise WR appears much less valuable since one must only start two rather than traditional three (or for TEBOW, WR37 is now the baseline rather than WR55).
We ran the digits, sorted by TEBOW and the following is the Top 70 (QB Heavy!) as we see it for the FCFI Draft going on RIGHT NOW! Read the rest of this entry →
2011 Minimalist Cheatsheet (all-FBS)
Sunday, August 14th, 2011
120 teams. Running backs by committee. 16-owner leagues. Recruiting. Sun Belt depth charts.
College fantasy football is not easy, not for the plebe nor the veteran. You come to Fantasy College Blitz to simplify things – in that vane, I again present to you my minimalist cheatsheet.
Inspired by the concept that once you have your starters safely drafted, you should go for ALL UPSIDE. You miss on one? No problem, aggressively attack the free agent market after Week One. We will help you do that.
<That’s it. Updated at least weekly. email me at vince [at]fantasycollegeblitz[com] or lots more interaction on Twitter @vincemullins>
