An open letter to Pat White

Thursday, April 23rd, 2009

Pat,

First off, congratulations on one of the most successful college football careers for any quarterback. Whether as a dual-threat stat machine or the only QB to ever win four bowl games, few signal callers possess your ability to play big in a big game. You will go down as a legendary West Virgina Mountaineer.

Few athletes in college football history amassed highlight runs like you.   With top-end speed and enough moves to avoid contact in a phone booth, your wake was filled with broken ankles and beaten defenders. Here are some examples:

Notice how I didn’t mention your passing? While you exhibited excellent accuracy you should abandon the thoughts of playing QB full time in the NFL in order to be one of the most feared athletes in the history of the game…

Future Pros: Chase Daniel

Friday, June 13th, 2008

Missouri Tigers’ fans were very happy when one of the most heralded players in school history decided to forgo the NFL and return for his senior season.

That player, QB Chase Daniel (right, Icon SMI) , is on track to own every school passing record. He is also in a position to lead the Tigers in their quest for a Big XII and a National Championship.

In his senior season, Daniel won numerous high school honors, including EA Sports National Player of the Year.

All of this is about to change. By this time next year, Chris Wells should be a house-hold name. Injuries seem like the only thing that will prevent him from making a strong Heisman Trophy run.

That being the case, the next question on our minds is what type of pro is he destined to become?

Future Pros: Tim Tebow

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008

Fantasy College Blitz has provided our take on the players in the NFL draft since Day One. Rather than waiting until next April, we begin a new series entitled Future Pros . We will analyze players that are likely in the crop of potential draftees for 2009.

This opening article will begin at the top by breaking down Mr. Heisman himself, Tim Tebow . I know a few of you are thinking I’m taking the lay-up with this selection. However, I believe many will be surprised with my final determination on Tebow.

Before we even get into Tebow’s body of work, let’s check on the track record of the man who created this one man Fantasy machine. Urban Meyer made his mark at Bowling Green, where he coached a QB by the name of Josh Harris . As a full time starter in the 2001 season, Josh Harris threw for 2,425 yards with 19 TD’s. He also ran for 737 yards and 20 TD’s. To some degree, he was a Tebow Jr.
