QB Kellen Moore and Boise State look primed for a spotless season - what does that mean for your fantasy draft? (Icon SMI)
With the one-year alignment of Boise State and TCU in the Mountain West Conference, college football fans get to see the top two BCS Busters of the past decade battle it out for underdog supremacy.
Only Boise State Heisman Trophy contender QB Kellen Moore stands alone as a sure fire fantasy first rounder – or does he? Here’s a look at the top signal callers in the MWC.
1. Kellen Moore, Boise State – The Broncos score an insane amount of points each year, no reason to think that will chance this season despite the move up in competition from the WAC to the MWC. Sure the top 2 pass catchers depart, but Boise has become a fantasy factory. The one knock on Moore would be the offense being TOO potent, i.e. just as likely to have an RB or 2 rush for 6 scores as they are to have Moore pass for 400+ on any given week.
Same variables as the defense rankings, but flipped over to the offense. So we want low yards per point (YPPT) to rank higher as it takes fewer yards to score. And high PPG for obvious reasons. Darned if a lot of the same teams are on this list too.

Amazing! Hard to believe the fantasy season is almost over!
For most leagues, this is either the last week, or, the next to the last week, for regular season fantasy action. These games are important for those fantasy coaches who are looking for a playoff spot…selecting a good fantasy team QB is a must.
Fortunately, this week, there will be few QBs off this week. Also, many of the top fantasy QBs like Oklahoma State’s Brandon Weeden (photo, thanksScout.com) have some favorable matchups. Read the rest of this entry →
I have got this situation going in my “legacy league” – we are in our 16th year of operation, and I do not recall any trade ever stirring up so much furor among the 18 owners.
Kellen Moore might be the top QB in fantasy football - does that make him as valuable as the top WR? (Icon SMI)
The roster only plays one QB, but offers 6 points for all TDs (pass, run, catch), plus 6 more for 50+ yard TDs. I started at 0-3 but third in points scored, and my strength is a QB squad of Kellen Moore,Bryant Moniz of Hawaii and Alex Carder of Western Michigan.
With the absence of Case Keenum, I stockpiled Terrance Broadway of Houston also and planned to make aggressive trades of my QB depth in order to improve my team. I identified my main weakness at WR, and the owner that lost Keenum had Hawaii WR Kealoha Pilares (who I have called one of the five elite WRs of 2010 given evidence so far). I offered Carder, he replied “Maybe for Moore but I don’t think you would do it.” Yes, yes I would.
So we consummated the Moore for Pilares deal, both of us were happy and we set our lineups. Commence crap storm.
