FROM THE SHOTGUN….Week Nine QB Start/Sit

D048360035.JPGThe 2009 fantasy season is winding down.

For some of you, this is the last week of regular-season fantasy games….for others, it is the next-to-last game.  Whichever category you fall under, this means jockeying for playoff spots….or jockeying to stay out of the dreaded “fantasy league cellar”.

Week Nine will be an interesting one.  Although most FBS conferences are in the thick of their conference action, some notable programs (and QBs) are getting a breather this week.

If you have Notre Dame QB Jimmy Clausen (photo, thanks GoIrish)…you might think The Great Pumpkin was Santa Claus….for he gets a trip to San Antonio to face woeful Washington State. Read the rest of this entry →

Saturday Morning College Football Breakfast Burrito…Week Seven

Saturday, October 17th, 2009

burritoWhile Vince Mullins is on assignment for Fantasy College Blitz, once again the “Steven Sheffield of burrito-making”, Daniel Freer, will prepare this morning’s burrito.   Although Daniel has improved his burrito-making skills…mind you, it is not the burrito made by Mullins and Company…but, he does put it out a little earlier…

Meanwhile, Texas is in the drivers seat to a Big XII championship, and, a slot in the BCS National Championship game.  Led by Heisman hopeful QB Colt McCoy and a stellar defense, the Longhorns hope to duplicate the success they had last season in their 45-35 win over the Sooners.

However, as big as this game will be, I would hold off playing either QB this weekend…here is why (see below)…. Read the rest of this entry →
