Vince Mullins and Matt McClusky talk college football on WNER

Tuesday, October 19th, 2010

Matt McCluskey’s paying gig is hosting his own sports talk show “Matt Mc’s Sports Fix” on New York’s WNER 1410 ESPN Sports Radio, and somehow he fits in time to perform as our Big East correspondent.

MMSF on WNER

Monday we caught up on the big college football topics of the day like Cam Newton‘s awesomeness, the BCS Ranking debuts and how in the world the Syracuse defense made Pitt QB Tino Sunseri look like the resurrection of Dan Marino.

Top 25 For SB Nation Blogpoll: All about the O

Monday, October 18th, 2010

With the debut of the official BCS rankings on Sunday, I was shocked at how the collective HAL-2000 attributed human error to everyone under-appreciating Missouri and Oklahoma State. And I just do not understand the Utah love despite the lack of strength of schedule – I think West Virginia would beat them head to head but I have to rank on resume. And the computers put Oklahoma on top despite only one impressive win IMO. I find fault with the Coaches Poll as always, since that is the group that sees the fewest games out of any group. Here is my ballot, please discuss:

BlogPoll Top 25: the Birth of my new #1

Thursday, October 14th, 2010

Just as the South Carolina victory over Alabama gave way for a new #1 in the mid-season college football polls, so too did last week give birth to my new #1 Baby Girl Mullins! As expected, she already knows how to celebrate a touchdown:

Pistols Firing! Goodnight Vienna!

After the jump, why I position the Oregon Ducks ahead of The Ohio State Buckeyes and also there is a new #1 in the state of Florida in the SB Nation BlogPoll College Football Top 25.

Fantasy College Blitz Ballot for SB Nation BlogPoll Top 25

The mob has plans, the cops have plans, Gordon’s got plans. You know, they’re schemers. Schemers trying to control their little worlds. I’m not a schemer. I try to show the schemers how pathetic their attempts to control things really are. – Joker in The Dark Knight

"I'm a dog chasing cars, I wouldn't know what to do if I caught one." said Les Miles, er, Joker

As I sit in the hospital on my baby’s due date with little forward progress from nature, I am reminded of the above quote – I planned to be away from the site but I got the chance to spend more time than normal on my Top 25 ballot for the SB Nation Blogpoll.

I suppose the biggest “scandal” is Oregon above Ohio State, but I can easily defend it especially after the weak showing against Illinois this weekend, and the Duck’s win over the Cardinal standing more impressive than the Buckeye victory over Miami.

My Top 25 on SB Nation BlogPoll College Football Rankings

Monday, September 27th, 2010

Not much to change in the Top 8, I still think Oklahoma is the sleeping giant amongst them all – we will certainly learn if they can put their boots on the ailing Texas Longhorns at the Red River Rivalry on Saturday.
