FANTASY PLAYER OF THE WEEK…Brandon Weeden, Oklahoma State, QB
Tuesday, September 21st, 2010
As a Tampa Bay Rays fan, I am glad a former Number One draft pick for the New York Yankees did not pan out.
And, I am sure a lot of Oklahoma State fans feel similar…OK, maybe not because they are all Rays fans in Stillwater. I am betting it is for a different reason.
Whatever the reason, Oklahoma State QB Brandon Weeden (photo, thanks ncaafootball.fanhouse.com) is our Fantasy College Blitz Fantasy Player of The Week for Week Three.
So, the real reason why he is our Fantasy Player of the Week:
Weeden, a former professional baseball player who played his HS sports in Edmond, OK (Santa Fe HS), threw for 409 yards and 6 TDs in the Cowboys 65-28 roping of Tulsa on Saturday. Since starting his first game two weeks ago, Weeden has led the Cowboys to a 3-0 record, and the team is averaging 57 points per game.

Even with the loss of some key players, and, the loss of a renowned offensive coordinator from the nation’s top offense of 2008, the Tulsa Golden Hurricane will still be loaded with skill-position talent…enough to make a lot of fantasy owners quite happy.
