Going Deep in Week 2: New permastarter WRs
Friday, September 11th, 2009
Last week I lamented the dearth of college football wide receivers that you can count on each week for stats.
I had some names on my radar that broke out, some highly rated preseason picks spoil the bed and some new names that everyone in college fantasy football needs to know about immediately.
Some new guys graduate to permastarter status (better late than never), and some free agent hot/cold discussion to follow.
TOP TIER PERMASTARTERS
Dez Bryant, OSU hosts Houston – Cougars are not a strong defense, and Dez Bryant may be the most unstoppable receiver of the decade after Mike Crabtree. Plau him without a second thought – kinda like don’t bet against Tim Tebow.
Dezmon Briscoe, Kansas at UTEP – last minute scratch in the opener, no suggestion of such early Saturday, dammit. Covers.com lists him as probable for Week 2 and Phil Steele calls for a UTEP upset in a high scoring special. Implicitly Permastarter means “start permanently”, but threat of suspension and weak road record urge caution. Stay tuned for Briscoe guidance.
