Three Expert Leagues Combine for the Ultimate Fantasy Football Experience

Last year, the college fantasy football market had three “Expert Leagues” run by Fantasy College Blitz, Fantasy Oasis, and Athlon Sports. In 2010, an effort began to consolidate the multiple expert leagues into one–with the idea that the leaders in our market will save time competing in one place thus providing a better overall experience for the expert league and its participants. Two good examples of this goal are fantasy baseball’s Tout Wars and fantasy pro football’s FanExFootball, among others.
Steve Lassan of Athlon Sports, Vince Mullins of Fantasy College Blitz, and Alex Esselink of College Fantasy Football Insider got together and organized the league rules and summary, which are very similar to past leagues. They also chose to retain the name Fantasy College Football Invitational (FCFI) for the league due to its longer heritage in the market.

There will be an entry fee for the league of $100.00 per team. After any expenses, all proceeds will go to charity on behalf of the winning team (75%) and runner-up (25%). League fees will be held by LeagueSafe during the season. Entry fees will be due prior to the online league draft, to be held sometime in August 2010.
The league was also able to secure six sponsors for various aspects of the league management for 2010.
* Athlon Sports – Will donate their league management system without fees.
* FantasyTrophies.com – Will donate their Armchair Mini Trophy to the league champion.
* League Runners – Will provide commissioner services without fees.
* LeagueSafe – Will provide fee management services without fees and donate interest.
* Mock Draft Central – Will host the online draft without fees.
* SportsJudge.com – Will provide dispute resolution services without fees.
