Tulsa breaks 70, breaks into AP Top 25
October 19th, 2008 by Vince Mullins
Tulsa Golden Hurricanes continued to shock and awe opposing defenses, this week unleashing a 77-35 assault of UTEP in Conference USA play.
Tulsa World quoted head coach Todd Graham, “I’ll be very surprised if we’re not (in the Top 25 polls),” Graham said. “I think we’re very well-deserving. We’re 7-0, and we’ve dominated six of the seven times we’ve been out and played. We have the No. 1 offense in the nation…”
He got his wish as this week’s AP poll put Tulsa at #22 in the nation, and the Athletic Directors Coaches Polls at #19.
Tulsa QB David Johnson threw for five touchdowns and 434 yards, but the fantasy star was Mr. Deep Ball WR Brennan Marion (right, Icon SMI) – six catches, 233 yards and three TD including a 97 yarder.
Next up for Tulsa – the University of Central Florida.
