Can you believe it…it is just days from the start of the 2010 College Football season! And, of course, you probably want to know whether your fantasy QB is worth playing in Week One….like Texas A&M’s Jerrod Johnson (photo, thanks, Scout.com)
We got the lowdown on many of the top QB plays this week…and we even did this article on our own. What? You think we got Butch Davis’ Nanny to write this? Come on… Read the rest of this entry →

Fantasy College Blitz again represents Oklahoma State in the SB Nation Blogpoll Top 25, “a transparent, authentic weekly college football poll. More than 100 of the most knowledgeable college football bloggers representing fans from virtually every rooting interest align weekly to rank the Top 25 college football teams. Every ballot is available for review.”
I put little weight on preseason polls since there is so much complexity involved not only week to week but then trying to prognosticate said complexity over the course of an entire season. That has nothing to do with the fun and discussion that results from the exercise.

Although there are only 3 Division I-FBS Independents left, there will be plenty of fantasy talent available at those schools.

Kelly has produced potent offenses, and winning teams, while at Central Michigan and (most recently) Cincinnati….and could put some spark into a Fighting Irish offense that could use a little more consistency.
Meanwhile, Navy and Army will continue to run their option offenses, giving fantasy players some running, fantasy-worthy QBs Read the rest of this entry →

The annual pre-season Mountain West Conference checklist always seems the same:
Have a good number of players become fantasy-friendly (i.e….lots of stats): Check.
Dominate the BCS conference mostly to the west of us (Pac-10): Check.
Crash the BCS: Check.
The MWC has been active in the 2010 off-season, becoming one of the players in the recent conference re-shuffling (losing Utah, but gaining Boise State). During the 2010 regular season, the MWC will also produce a number of fantasy prospects, including TCU QB Andy Dalton (photo, thanks Scout.com) Read the rest of this entry →

The eyes of fantasy players always seem to light up a little bit more when the Western Athletic Conference is mentioned…it means “a lot of offense” in Fantasy-Speak.
And, for 2010, it could mean even more offense than in past years, as Boise State and Nevada return a good part of their offense from last season. Also, some coaching changes around the league may upgrade some of the WAC’s weaker offenses.
You can be assured that fantasy players and leagues around the land will be jockeying to draft WAC talent like Nevada QB Colin Kaepernick (photo, thanks Scout.com) very early on… Read the rest of this entry →
