We figured it would be a matter of time that the heir-apparent to Florida QB Tim Tebow would have a break-out game…
Um, wait, it wasn’t that Tebow heir-apparent…
Cameron Newton, (#2 runing with ball, photo, thanks AP/Butch Dili) the junior QB from Auburn, and, former backup to Tim Tebow while at Florida, wins the first Fantasy College Blitz Fantasy Player of the Week for the 2010 season Read the rest of this entry →

You figure that, sometime this season, the Mid American Conference’s all-time leading passer would win a Player of the Week award.
Central Michigan QB Dan LeFevour (photo, thanks CMU Sports) finally did, as he is the latest recipient of the Fantasy College Blitz Fantasy Player of the Week award.
LeFevour, a native of Downers Grove, IL, threw for 344 yards and 4 TDs in the Chippewas 35-3 win over Ball State, in a game played on November 18th. Also, the Chips QB fired up 59 rushing yards and a rushing TD on the Cardinals.

Tennessee just could not stop him….
Ole Miss WR-RB-Wildcat-Whatever, Dexter McCluster (photo, thanks Football.com), ran all over the Vols in the Rebels 42-17 win in Oxford, MS on Saturday. For his performance for the Rebels on Saturday, McCluster is our Fantasy College Blitz Fantasy Player of the Week.
McCluster, a senior from Largo, FL, rushed for a school-record 282 yards against the Vols, scoring 4 TDs. Adding in his 42 yards receiving, McCluster’s 324 total yards offense set another Ole Miss record in that category.

About every ten weeks or so, seems that UAB QB Joe Webb (photo, thanks IconSMI) wins the Fantasy College Blitz Fantasy Player of the Week award.
Well, maybe we are stretching the truth just a little bit, however, Webb was our first honoree of the 2009 season.
In the Blazers 56-29 win over Florida Atlantic this past Saturday, Webb, a senior from Birmingham, threw for 292 yards and 4 TDs, while rushing for another 120 yards and 2 TDs.
Webb’s performance kept alive UAB’s chances for a bowl bid, as the Blazers improved to 4-5 overall…with three games remaining on their 2009 schedule.

Our recipient of this week’s honor is someone who I believe will be one of the biggest fantasy producers over the next few years. Although this week’s honoree has not had the record-setting career, yet, he did finally blow-up.
Oh, did he blow up.
North Texas redshirt-freshman QB Riley Dodge (photo, thanks Scout.com), our Fantasy College Blitz Fantasy Player of the Week, single-handedly destroyed Western Kentucky 68-49 in Saturday’s game at Fouts Field in Denton, TX.
Dodge, a blue-chip prep QB from Southlake, TX, threw for 262 yards and 4 TDs…while rushing for 70 yards and another 3 TDs….in leading the Mean Green to only their second victory of the season (just 1-11 in 2008)
