Cheatsheet v1: Top 21 Fantasy Kickers
By John Huss | July 22, 2008
As I still come off my Batman: The Dark Knight high, I find myself faced with the task to post our top 21 Kicker list. I know, drafting a kicker has all the drama and excitement usually involved with watching paint dry.
Of course, no one should overlook this position. The old golf adage is you drive for show, putt for dough. Well, Kicker = putter. Everyone is going to spend high draft picks on the flashy names at QB, RB and WR. However, its your late round kicker that could easily win you a few close games during the season, enabling you to get a better seed in the playoffs. Your kicker may not be Batman, but Robin was known to save Batman’s can more than a few times.
With that said, here is the preliminary list:
- Jeff Wolfert, Missouri
- Kyle Brotzman, Boise St.
- Mark Buchholz, Clemson
- Daniel Lincoln, Tennessee
- Thomas Weber, Arizona St.
- Colt David, LSU
- Ryan Bailey, Texas
- Austin Starr, Indiana
- Leigh Tiffin, Alabama
- Chris Summers, Purdue
- Ryan Pretorius, Ohio St.
- Jarod Tracy, Tulsa
- San San, Rutgers
- Thomas Morstead, SMU
- Stephen Hoge, Kansas
- Delbert Alvarado, USF
- Pat McAfee, West Virginia
- Kai Forbath, UCLA
- Kevin Kelly, Penn St.
- K.C. Lopata, Michigan
- Warley Leroy, FAU
