Cheatsheet v1: Top 21 Fantasy Kickers

By John Huss | July 22, 2008

jeff-wolfert1 Cheatsheet v1: Top 21 Fantasy KickersAs I still come off my Batman: The Dark Knight high, I find myself faced with the task to post our top 21 Kicker list.  I know, drafting a kicker has all the drama and excitement usually involved with watching paint dry.

Of course, no one should overlook this position.  The old golf adage is you drive for show, putt for dough.  Well, Kicker = putter.  Everyone is going to spend high draft picks on the flashy names at QB, RB and WR.  However, its your late round kicker that could easily win you a few close games during the season, enabling you to get a better seed in the playoffs.  Your kicker may not be Batman, but Robin was known to save Batman’s can more than a few times.

With that said, here is the preliminary list:

  1. Jeff Wolfert, Missouri
  2. Kyle Brotzman, Boise St.
  3. Mark Buchholz, Clemson
  4. Daniel Lincoln, Tennessee
  5. Thomas Weber, Arizona St.
  6. Colt David, LSU
  7. Ryan Bailey, Texas
  8. Austin Starr, Indiana
  9. Leigh Tiffin, Alabama
  10. Chris Summers, Purdue
  11. Ryan Pretorius, Ohio St.
  12. Jarod Tracy, Tulsa
  13. San San, Rutgers
  14. Thomas Morstead, SMU
  15. Stephen Hoge, Kansas
  16. Delbert Alvarado, USF
  17. Pat McAfee, West Virginia
  18. Kai Forbath, UCLA
  19. Kevin Kelly, Penn St.
  20. K.C. Lopata, Michigan
  21. Warley Leroy, FAU
