Impact freshmen for 2010 fantasy college football

July 5th, 2010 by Daniel Freer

QB Pete Thomas - Colorado State:  Probably the best of the incoming….and he will start.   Young team returning, but, many saw playing time due to injury.   Big time talent for the program, and for the MWC.

Many will push QB Jake Heaps of BYU….but he is a Mormon who probably will go on mission for the next 2 years…so I do not see much playing time for him in 2010. Stick with transfer Riley Nelson (Utah State 2008) if you must go with a BYU QB this season.
RB Roderick Smith – Ohio State:  Big back who could push for playing time.  Tressel never afraid to play true frosh, as long as they stay eligible (see Jamaal Berry)

RB Aaron Spikes – UL Lafayette:   They like to run, and, they have some issues at RB.  Another program not afraid to play true frosh….remember Tyrell Fenroy (Four 1k run years).

RB Ethan Grant – TCU:  A good team that could use some help at RB, and a big recruit at the MWC level

WR Mike Davis - Texas:  Need to replace Jordan Shipley and Dan Buckner….and this may be the best of the incoming frosh WR for the Horns

WR Kyle Prater - USC:  They signed a lot of WRs this yr….and Prater is a big target who could impact immediately,,,even moreso than Robert Woods….another top USC WR recruit

WR James Green – Toledo:  Should start from day one….a big WR from Florida who could have an immediate impact in the MAC

WR Ross Apo – BYU:  Seems to be always a true frosh stepping up at WR at the Y….and Apo is a big WR for a program that usually has smallish WRs

WR Marcus Lucas – Missouri:  Has the size and speed to make an immediate impact, and Mizzou with QB Blaine Gabbert throws that football around.
