Saturday Morning College Football Breakfast Burrito, Week 6 is all about Rice at Tulsa
October 4th, 2008 by Vince Mullins
Some of our favorite Fantasy College Football ingredients all wrapped up tightly for your tailgate consumption. Taxes are included, just ask the dancing F1 driver what happens when they aren’t.
WEATHER UPDATE
Rain pretty much covers the entire Pacific and mountain Time Zones today, says Weather.com. Perfect day to exercise your east coast bias. This has a direct effect on the FANTASY GAME OF THE YEAR, as we have an 80% chance of precipitation in Tulsa with most of it this morning.

Rice at Tulsa
yes, I am more excited about this one more than Florida State at Miami…
CBS College Sports TV, Kickoff 8pm ET – there are some hard feelings between the schools as Tulsa Coach Todd Graham left Rice after one year in 2006. The Rice band spoke their peace in 2007 (what I would pay to see that on YouTube!), and per the excellent and underappreciated Owl blogger at the Houston Chronicle this game is the first brick in constructing Coach David Bailiff’s rebuilding program.
NewsOK talks to Hurricane coach Todd Graham about the matchup and his old QB Chase Clement. All the relevant stats collected at Tulsa World, a pretty good CF rag.
Record time – Clement and WR Jarett Dillard are the all-time leaders for TD connections with 42 TDs. Dillard is the active career leader with 50, and also has time to blog for the NY Times. TU WR Brennan Marion set an all-time record last year for yards per catch (31.9), and is keeping up the same pace in 2008.
Once I return from the SMU at UCF showdown (UCF a 14 pt favorite?), I will be live blog the heck out of this one…STAY TUNED.
RANDOM NOTES
Superfan Neil Young says to grab the New Mexico State defense if you need a free agent – Alcorn State was added late this year after the Nicholls State cancellation, the Braves have been shut out twice already and Steve McNair don’t play there no more.
Austin Collie is a god – small G.
Five undefeated Big 12 teams and most of them on the road in conference play this week – My Oklahoma State bias is well chronicled, but seriously this will likely be the big national story.
Latest Injury updates
Leading NCAA returning rusher Eugene Jarvis of Kent State is OUT again, Navy QB Special K still nursing the hammy and is questionable, Wisky TE Garrett Graham doubtful, with Emmanuel Moody out for the Gators expect Percy Harvin to get more touches from the backfield which is just a ridiculous thought. PSU RB Evan Royster may be limited by a shoulder.
