Ah, yes, life is complete.
Not only can we start to forget the sweltering heat of Florida summer, we can start new memories of college football. Whether you eagerly await your favorite team’s creampuff opener, or if you have had the Boise-Virginia Tech clash on your iPhone calendar for months, or whether you can’t wait to see your fantasy teams live scoring, it is time for kickoff!
PS- Live Scoring didn’t update until 1115 ET on CBSSports.com. That’s like Diet Live Scoring. Quasi Live Scoring. Let’s hope they clean things up by Week Two.

WEATHER
Hurricane/ Tropical Storm Earl will soak the NY/New England area on Saturday, so expect winds to be the biggest effect all the way into West Virginia. Tropical Storm Fiona waits patiently 600 miles east of Miami, no worries for this weekend.
INJURIES/SUSPENSIONS/OUTS
RB
Donald Buckram – UTEP – tweaked a knee at practice this week, carted off, nothing serious
Mark Ingram – Alabama – scoped knee, out week one and maybe week two. So much for a repeat Heisman Trophy winner.
Jay Finley – Baylor – ankle, questionable
LaMichael James, Oregon – SUSPENSION, one game
Waushaun Ealey, Georgia – SUSPENSION, 1-game DUI
Derrick Washington, Missouri – SUSPENSION FOR SEASON. Check Kendial Lawrence
Brynn Harvey, UCF – still out, check Jonathan Davis over Jeff Brinson
Warren Norman, Vanderbilt – scoped knee last month, but listed as starter. NW on the other side, Norman is worth monitoring.
WR
Chris Owusu, Stanford – Questionable, undisclosed but not on depth chart. Harbaugh is getting cranky about information on other players also.
Donovan Varner, Duke – hammy, probable
Jordan Reed, Florida – bruise knee, OUT. Check out Omarius Hines
Jarmon Forston – SUSP for SEASON, no freaking idea who to check except Bert Reed and even he doesn’t seem to have job security.
Cruz Willliams, Louisiana Tech +2 others – SUSPENSION, indefinite. Check out Ahmad Paige (Tennessee transfer) and Philip Livas
QB
BJ Daniels, USF – I thought he hurt his wrist badly a couple weeks ago, but no news of such on the local papers. Great QB2 to have on your roster now that Skip Holtz is the coach.
Jerrod Johnson, Texas A&M – many reports have his recent work “without his fastball”, result of offseason surgery. Playing Stephen F Austin, I would consider sitting him as you monitor news.
K
Groin injury to UCLA Kai Forbath (questionable), and Oregon State Justin Kahut still nursing a sore back from a car accident. Find another kicker, but these two are potential top ten guys so maybe you stash then on your reserve roster
On defense
Illinois has multiple injuries, get those Missouri Tigers active. Except Washington.
And of course, just about any fantasy relevance from North Carolina is suspended. Upgrade LSU players as a result for the Chick-Fil-A kickoff classic.
