This Montel does not let you cry on his show….
In fact, this Montel enjoys it when people cry, especially opposing defenses, and, fantasy owners going up against him.
Our Fantasy College Blitz Fantasy Player of the Week, Boston College RB Montel Harris (photo, thanks zimbio.com), made North Carolina State shed a lot of tears on Saturday.
Harris, a sophomore from Jacksonville, FL, set Boston College school records against the Wolfpack…rushing for 264 yards and 5 TDs in the Eagles 52-20 thrashing of NC State at Alumni Stadium in Chestnut Hill, MA.
In winning our FCB-FPOW for Week Seven, Harris becomes the first RB to win the honor in 2009…all the previous winners in 2009 have been QBs.

We figured, at some time this season, that a Texas Tech QB would be the top producer of the week.
We did not figure, it would be the second-team QB.
In the Texas Tech win in Lubbock on Saturday, a 66-14 stomping of Kansas State, Red Raider backup QB Steven Sheffield (photo,CroixTorres/Raider Nation.com) riddled the KSU Wildcats defense for 490 yards and 7 TDs…earning our Fantasy College Blitz Fantasy Player of the Week for Week Six.
Sheffield, a junior from Pflugerville, TX, filled in for the injured starter Taylor Potts, who was hurt in the Red Raiders victory over New Mexico the previous week. In the New Mexico game, Sheffield threw for 3 TDs after Potts left that game.

As Yogi Berra once said: “It’s deja vu all over again”
And, the Fantasy College Blitz Fantasy Player of the Week for Week Five, Toldeo QB Aaron Opelt (photo, thanks Scout.com), brings his version of deja vu to college football this season.
Opelt wins his second FCB-FPOW of 2009…winning in Week Two after he waylaid Colorado on a national television appearance.
In Week Five, the Fremont, OH native threw for 422 yards and 5 TDs in the Rockets 37-30 win vs Ball State. In the last minute of the game, with Toledo trailing 30-29, Opelt launched a long-range rocket to WR Steven Williams for the game-winning TD.

Maybe he was playing with the Twelfth Man all game long….
Or…maybe he just needed ten men…
However which way he did it, Texas A&M QB Jerrod Johnson, our Fantasy College Blitz Fantasy Player of the Week, sicced Reveille all over UAB in the Aggies 56-19 win over the Blazers in College Station on Saturday night.
Johnson, a big (6ft 6in) junior from Humble, Texas, plowed all over UAB…throwing for 240 yards and 3 TDs, while rushing for 61 yards and another 3 rushing TDs…and overshadowed our FCB Fantasy Player of the Week for Week One, UAB Blazers QB Joe Webb.

His debut in week one was quite inauspicious…and a lot of other negative words that may not be suitable to print.
However, Oklahoma QB Landry Jones (photo, thanks, LATimes.com) has improved exponentially (hey, is that a good word?) since his struggles vs BYU in the Sooners opening game loss….after he was called on when 2008 Heisman Trophy winner Sam Bradford went down with a shoulder injury.
Improved enough, is Jones, to win the Fantasy College Blitz Fantasy Player of the Week for Week Three.
Jones, a redshirt-freshman from Artesia, NM, threw for 336 yards and 6 TDs in Oklahoma’s 45-0 win over Tulsa, the defending CUSA West Division champs.
