Alabama’s Mark Ingram starts the 2010 season right where he left off in 2009–on top of the Heismanpundit.com Heisman Poll.
The junior incumbent Heisman winner grabbed 6 first-place votes and totaled 26 points to take the top spot in this year’s preseason edition of the survey. He holds a solid lead over Ohio State junior quarterback Terrelle Pryor, who received 2 first place votes and 18 points overall.
Boise State junior quarterback Kellen Moore was third with 12 points (2 first-place votes), while Oregon State junior running back Jacquizz Rodgers (6 points, 2 first-place votes) was fourth. Houston senior quarterback Case Keenum and Arkansas junior quarterback Ryan Mallett tied for fifth (4 points).
Also garnering support was Virginia Tech sophomore running back Ryan Williams (3 points), Pitt sophomore running back Dion Lewis (2 points), plus Washington senior quarterback Jake Locker, Wisconsin junior running back John Clay and Notre Dame junior wide receiver Michael Floyd (1 point each).
