WEEK ELEVEN TOP PERFORMERS
November 9th, 2008 by Daniel Freer
Tempted to just re-copy an old “Top Performers” article from previous weeks…because it is the usual suspects involved.
Or get Yogi Berra to write this…because he is the expert on “Deja vu all over again”.
Needless to say, this will be an original, and Mr. Berra probably has better things to do, even if he is not doing anything.
Again, Texas Tech QB Graham Harrell had a huge game, throwing for 456 yards and 6 TDs in the Red Raiders 56-20 rustling of Oklahoma State. Is that Harrell rehearsing his Heisman acceptance speech? (photo, thanks, IconSMI)
Another of the regulars on here, Rice QB Chase Clement, threw for 384 yards and 3 TDs, while rushing for 87 yards and another TD in the Owls 38-31 clawing of Army. The USMA did try to keep up, as FB Collin Mooney had the best rushing day of any D-I back this week, gaining 207 yards and scoring 2 TDs
We did get some visits from our “Blast from the Past” group, notably New Mexico State’s QB Chase Holbrook and WR Chris Williams. Although the Aggies lost 42-30 to Hawaii, Holbrook threw for 394 yards and 4 TDs, connecting with Williams on 3 of those TDs and 221 yards.
Another fine performance from a WR was turned in by Missouri’s Jeremy Maclin, who had 118 yards and 2 TD catches, while adding 84 yards rushing and 1 TD…leading the Tigers to a 41-24 victory over Kansas State.
