Your College Football Recruiting reading list

February 6th, 2009 by Vince Mullins

The following are links to some articles highlighting the recruiting hordes from the major fantasy college football programs (pasted from my delicious feed).

Andre DuBose, newest Florida Gator

Rivals.com Football Recruiting – Top five impact freshmen

Here is the difference between college analysis and FANTASY college analysis (not that there is anything wrong with that) – Shavodrick Beaver (QB Tulsa) isn’t on the list but could be this season’s Robert Griffin (Baylor). I still like WR Marlon Brown (UGA) over Duron Carter (Ohio State, Cris’ son) just based on the offensive system alone.

wait, both Ole Miss and Mississippi State on the Top 25? My eyes are deceiving me, no?

Four teams could claim top recruiting class

LSU, Alabama, Ohio State and USC. The top recruits in LSU’s class include 6-foot-3 Rueben Randle of Bastrop, LA rated as the No. 1 wide receiver and QB Russell Shepard of Houston – Bloomberg.com: North American

Gators have small but impressive recruiting class

I saw DeBose and Jelani Jenkins at the Under Armour HS All-AMerican Game, I was very impressed by both. DeBose could be the freshman fantasy player of the year – St. Petersburg Times

Mike Gundy likes the Pokes class for 2009

The 6-foot-2, 225-pound Dexter Pratt committed to Louisiana State, but reversed course in mid-January to attend Oklahoma State, where he is already enrolled. Rivals.com rated him as the nation’s fourth-best running back prospect, |SportingNews.com – Your expert source for NCAA Football stats, scores, standings, and blogs from NCAA Football columnists.

Breaking down how the poll’s Top 25 fared in recruiting – USATODAY.com

Early prediction – either Andre DeBose (UF) or Shavodrick Beaver (Tulsa) will be the top freshman for fantasy in 2009.

Vols’ Lane Kiffin earns Urban Meyer’s wrath, bull’s-eye on back – Andy Staples – SI.com

I am reminded of a Ben Franklin quote – “Better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt”. Kiffin has only been on the job for a couple months tops, so maybe he deserves a pass on this one? Regardless, dudes has a big set of Vols to go after the Florida Golden Boy of Coaching.
